After years of travelling and interacting with artisans from around the world, we set out on a mission to bring together the best quality ethically sourced and sustainable products under one roof.
We're a small family shop based in the beautiful Lake District town of Keswick, Cumbria. Founded in 1998, by Wendy fresh from her world travels and inspired by what she had discovered. Silver and Thread (formerly known as Distant Shores) began working towards the mission to deliver quality and ethically sourced products from independent wholesalers around the world.
